Nematodes are round worms that live in all kinds of environments including other organisms. Free living (non-parasitic) nematodes dominate all sediment habitats in diversity and sheer number.

Although scientists have studied nematodes for over a century, currently only a fraction of the estimated total diversity is known to science
.

In our lab the focus of our research is nematode biodiversity, ecology and their association with other organisms with emphasis on free-living
forms.
